What it is
X5 is Insta360’s 360-degree action camera built around two 1/1.28-inch sensors. It records the surrounding scene so framing can be selected later in software, and its lenses can be replaced when damaged rather than requiring replacement of the complete camera.
Why the design matters
The narrow vertical body places one lens on each side, a touchscreen below and a removable battery at the base. With a compatible selfie stick, software can remove the support from the stitched view, which changes the apparent camera position without a separate camera operator.

Battery and protection conditions
Insta360’s charging and runtime figures are laboratory results tied to particular modes, temperatures and settings. Cold weather, high-resolution recording, screen use and wireless functions can reduce duration. Waterproofing is not permanent and does not remove the need to inspect covers, lenses and seals before exposure to water.
