Privacy Policy

How ChinoMuse handles information submitted through this website.

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Scope and contact

This Privacy Policy describes how ChinoMuse handles personal information collected through chinomuse.com. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to hello@chinomuse.com.

Information submitted through forms

  • Newsletter: email address and subscription status.
  • Contact: name, email address, subject and message.
  • Work With Us: name, email address, organisation, inquiry and details.
  • Brand Submission: name, email address, brand name, official website and submission details.

All four forms require an affirmative consent checkbox. The form consent records permission to store and use the submitted information to respond to the submission. It is separate from any consent that may be required for analytics cookies or other non-essential technologies.

For each successful form submission, ChinoMuse creates a private administrative record containing the submitted fields, consent text and UTC timestamp, source URL, available campaign values, submission status, browser information and a one-way hash derived from the IP address for rate limiting. The submission record does not intentionally store the raw IP address. Hosting, security, caching, email and delivery logs may nevertheless process IP addresses, timestamps, request details and technical identifiers.

How information is used

  • To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website and limit spam or repeated abuse.
  • To respond to enquiries, corrections, rights claims and privacy requests.
  • To evaluate brand, editorial and commercial proposals.
  • To maintain consent, source, notification and submission-status records.
  • To manage newsletter subscriptions and send requested email.
  • To understand website use and improve content and navigation.
  • To comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Email subscriptions and delivery

When a visitor subscribes, ChinoMuse and its email service providers may process the email address, subscription and confirmation status, delivery records and unsubscribe requests. Administrative notifications for the Contact, Work With Us and Brand Submission forms are sent to the relevant ChinoMuse inbox. Newsletter recipients can unsubscribe using the link provided in an email or by contacting ChinoMuse.

Analytics

ChinoMuse uses a third-party analytics service to measure users and sessions, approximate geography, browser and device information and website activity. ChinoMuse also records completion events for the Newsletter, Contact, Work With Us and Brand Submission forms, together with outbound-link activity. Form contents, names and email addresses are not intentionally included in analytics events. The analytics provider may process cookie identifiers and device or network information under its own terms and privacy documentation.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use essential cookies for security, preferences and administration. The analytics service may set first-party cookies or comparable identifiers used to distinguish users and maintain session information. Hosting, caching, security and email services may use comparable technical identifiers. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect some website features.

Service providers and international transfers

Personal information may be processed by providers supporting website hosting, security, caching, transactional email, newsletter delivery and analytics. Their systems may operate in countries other than the visitor’s country. ChinoMuse does not currently sell personal information.

Retention and security

Private submission records are retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, administer editorial or commercial work, preserve consent and audit history, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Subscriber records, analytics data, email delivery logs, server or security logs and backups follow the retention settings of the relevant services. ChinoMuse uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, a person may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, portability or information about disclosures, and may have the right to complain to a privacy regulator. ChinoMuse may request proportionate information to verify a request and may retain information where permitted or required by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Children and policy changes

ChinoMuse is intended for a general professional and adult audience and does not knowingly solicit personal information from children. Material changes to this policy will be shown through a revised Last updated date and, where required, additional notice or consent.
