What it is
Blue Planet II is an automatic mechanical watch built around one unconventional idea: a globe-like centre and asynchronous hour–minute display replace the familiar two-hand dial. CIGA design calls the mechanism “Asynchronous-Follow.”
Why the design matters
The display changes both appearance and reading behaviour. According to the brand, the hour indication moves through 30 degrees while the minute scale completes a 390-degree rotation. The mechanism makes the representation of Earth part of the time interface rather than a decorative dial image.
