What it is
MantisPod 2.0 is a compact support that can work as a handheld grip, tabletop tripod, extended platform and hooked “Mantis” support. This profile covers the Classic Black base product rather than the separate remote-control kit.
Why the design matters
Small supports usually trade positioning range for portability. PGYTECH answers that limitation with articulated legs and a head that can pan and tilt without becoming a full-size tripod. The quick-release plate follows an Arca-type geometry, while a 1/4-inch screw connects supported cameras or accessories.

Mantis mode requires care
PGYTECH limits hooked Mantis use to a supporting edge under 90mm and states that the other two legs must remain supported. The maker also warns against this mode on moving vehicles or yachts. The 2kg figure is a manufacturer load rating, not permission to use every camera and lens on any edge, railing or unstable surface.
Compatibility needs checking
Camera weight should include the lens, microphone, cage and every mounted accessory. Centre of gravity can matter as much as total mass. An Arca-type description does not guarantee perfect fit with every third-party plate or clamp, so the exact attachment should be checked before the camera is left unsupported.
