What it is

MagEZ Grip 3 is a magnetic phone grip with a hinged metal ring. It attaches to MagSafe-compatible phones or cases, gives fingers a more secure holding point and folds into a support for portrait or landscape positioning. The checked black version uses an aramid-fibre inset within the circular body.

Why the design matters

A phone grip is usually an added lump on the back of a device. PITAKA reduces the object to a shallow disc and a folding ring so it can be removed when not needed. The ring’s rotation changes hand position and stand angle, while the material insert connects it visually with the broader PITAKA system.

Verified functional record

  • Product version: MagEZ Grip 3 on the current official listing
  • Attachment: magnetic, for MagSafe-compatible phones and cases
  • Functions: finger grip and folding phone stand
  • Construction: metal ring and body with an aramid-fibre surface detail on the checked version
  • Orientation: designed to support portrait and landscape positioning
  • Charging limit: PITAKA instructs users to remove Grip 3 before magnetic wireless charging and not to stack it with other MagSafe accessories

Compatibility needs checking

Magnetic performance depends on the phone and case. A non-MagSafe case may need a compatible magnetic ring, while thick cases or misaligned rings can reduce attachment. The grip is removable; it is not a permanent structural handle and should not be treated as protection against dropping a phone.

What ChinoMuse has not verified

ChinoMuse has not measured magnetic holding force, hinge resistance, ring fatigue, coating wear, stand stability or compatibility with every phone and case. It has not been used as a safety tether. Follow PITAKA’s current support instructions and remove it before wireless charging.
