What it is

YumShare Dual-hopper 2 is a connected dry-food feeder with two separate storage compartments and dispensing paths. A camera sits above the bowl so the feeder can provide visual records through the PETKIT app when normal external power and network services are available.

Why the design matters

The 5L total volume is divided into a 2L hopper and a 3L hopper. That layout can separate two compatible dry foods instead of mixing them in one container. It does not establish dietary suitability: food type, portion plan and any transition between diets remain decisions for the animal’s carer and, where necessary, a veterinary professional.

Camera and app limits

PETKIT describes a 140° wide-angle camera, two-way audio and app records. Some cloud-video functions require a subscription. Camera availability depends on external power, network, account and service status; it is not available while the feeder is running only on backup batteries. A camera view does not guarantee that food was eaten or that an animal is well.

Backup power is limited

The manual identifies four D alkaline cells as optional backup power. Scheduled dispensing can continue during an outage, but the camera switches off. The official sources do not state cell capacity, so none is inferred here. Primary cells are not rechargeable and should be installed, replaced and disposed of according to current instructions.

Placement and maintenance

The feeder is for indoor use on a stable surface. PETKIT advises against use for pets younger than three months. Hopper, rotor, chute and bowl need regular checking and cleaning, while stored food needs to remain within its own storage guidance. The device cannot identify spoilage, blockage, an unsuitable diet or a pet that needs direct attention.
